KIWW 2016 Water Leaders’ Round Table : Outcomes

Theme : ‘Water Partnership for the Sustainable Development’ 34 water leaders agreed on the KIWW 2016 Leaders’ Action Declaration.

World Water Partnership

Hosting countries of the World Water Fora agreed on the ‘Call for Action’ contributing to the next World Water Forum and achieving SDGs.

Leaders’ Forum for Water Cluster and Partnership

Leaders’ Forum for Water Cluster and Partnership shared their ideas and thoughts on the future plans for the water cluster based on solid partnership.

World Water Cities Forum

World Water Cities Forum(WWCF) created opportunities and reviewing the status of water in urban areas.

 

Implementation of Solutions

Implementation Roadmap Review Meeting: Outcomes

10 champions from the 7th forum discussed about improvement of the Implementation Roadmap, and the linkage with 8th Forum and beyond.

Thematic Sessions

Under the sub themes(water cooperation, capacity building, Water-Energy-Food NEXUS, IWRM and SWM, etc.), diversified and specialized focus areas in water were discussed by the multistakeholder experts.

 

Knowledge Sharing/Capacity Building

Prizes-World Water Challenge

World Water Challenge received 26 identify imminent water problems that world is facing and 27 solutions. The winner got 10 million won on his suggested solution of “Development of water purifier with filter made by raw materials in Cambodia.”

Prizes-Korea Junior Water Prize’s

Korea Junior Water Prize’s winner with the Korean Prime Minister prize about the research “Development of Reclamation and Reuse System through the Use of Soil Moisture Sensors in Crop Growing Areas and Drones” by competing 16 finalists.

Global Saemaeul Undong for Water Aid

Local authorities and governments from Senegal, Philippine, Cote d'Ivoire and trainee attended to share the cases on village based water development through Global Saemaeul Undong.

Water Culture and Civil Forum

Water related liberal arts themes are dealt with among three panels inviting citizens for sharing knowledge and information on water and water related culture. Water related Musical performance ‘duet by baritone and soprano’ and ‘acoustic guitar performance’ are shown.

 

Economic/Social Value Creation

Water Business Forum

More than 52 companies and multilateral development banks as well as institutions from approximately 26 countries participated in. Forum and meetings provided the right place for relevant stakeholders to share their information and technologies reinforcing their closer networks.

EXPO

71 organizations presented their products, services and technologies at the 250 booths. More than 100 'Oneto one purchase meetings' and ‘International Business meetings’ were held and made contracted as 14 million value of business announcements.
